BarCraft is a phenomenon which originated in the US during Spring 2011 where avid gamers will gather at a bar to watch the North American Star League while enjoying a drink or two with fellow fans of the StarCraft II.
19 November 2011 was a historical event for the Singapore Gaming community who got to enjoy their very own 1st BarCraft, which many thought to be impossible to be held in Singapore.. Organized by Alexandre "Frogmite" Dumont, a StarCraft II online shoutcaster, the very first Bar Craft was held at Molly Manone’s Irish Pub to watch the Major League Gaming(MLG) Live over wireless streaming.

Alexandre "Frogmite" Dumont, only expected about 12 people to turn up. However, to his surprise, streams of gamers from the community continued streaming till there was about 50 people. However, there was only seats for about 30. But that didn’t stop or deter the gamers as some of them simply gathered outside the bar to watch through the door.
Notable gamers such as renowned local RTS gamer, Bryan "nirvAnA" Choo the owner of www.SC2SEA.com, professional DotA player Tammy “furryfish*” Tang and game shoutcasters Philbert “DeathAdder” from our very own Jedi Clan and Joseph came down to chill during the event too. Some members of the local gaming media also came down to check this BarCraft out.

The event started at 9pm where everyone was watching streamed replays while for the StarCraft II MLG to start at 12am. Shouts of cheers and woops could be even heard from outside the room as many curious passer by came down to take a peek.. Even the bar manager was amazed at this phenomenon where people gather to watch StarCraft II matches at a bar together, she also seemed very satisfied by the increase of beverage sales for the night.
The party did not end after the bar closed at 1.30pm as Alexandre continued the BarCraft at his place at Lavender, not too far from the City.
Encouraged by the response, Alexandre "Frogmite" Dumont, hopes the next BarCraft can be held on a private room on level 2 of the Molly Manone’s Irish Pub where it can fit up to 80 people comfortably..
